2016 Club Champ – Carl Blecher

Our Presidente! and the club’s iron man has pulled off an impressive feat and captured the Heaven VMX 2016 Club Championship! At 60+ Carl, an ex A Grader and Suzuki Sponsored rider back in the 70s, still has his speed and is one of the club’s smoothest, most consistent and fittest riders. We couldn’t be happier for him as you could see when he was surprised with the news he was thrilled. Well done Carl Blecher, 2016 Heaven VMX Club Champion.

Pre-90 VMX & Vinduro for Heaven?

Posted by on Oct 17, 2014 in Event Details, Events, Featured Posts, Information, News

Pre-90 VMX & Vinduro for Heaven?

On Saturday afternoon November 1 a vote of the Heaven Members took place and all 3 amendments to the constitution were passed. This opens the door to Heaven VMX running a Pre-90 class from 2015 on and ensures this and future committees are committed to ensuring all classes covered by the constitution are treated equally and fairly. On Saturday afternoon November 1, the Heaven members will vote on this question. Please exercise your right as a club member and make your vote count. You can vote in 1 of 3 ways, 1/ In person at the meeting held at no earlier than 4.30 pm, Saturday Nov 1 at the Lakes circuit. 2/ Send your vote in by mail, fax or email before Oct 31, on the forms provided further below in this post. Your votes must be with the secretary more than 24 hours prior to the vote. 3/ Vote by Proxy, appointing another member to vote on your behalf, which also must be with the secretary more than 24 hours prior to the vote. There are 3 changes to the Heaven VMX constitution we will be voting on, 1/ We found a simple error in the numbering of the clauses in the constitution we would like to have fixed as a matter of good housekeeping. Download your absentee voting form here: absentee motion 1 2/ Whether the Heaven VMX Club should align the classes it supports with the same classes Motorcycling Australia classifies as Classic & Post Classic Motocross. If voted yes, this would then add Pre-90 Motocross & Vinduro to the club schedule from 2015 and beyond. Download your absentee voting form here: absentee motion 2 3/ A change to the wording of the role of the Heaven Committee, which ensures no existing classes miss out, by including Pre-90 in Heaven events, and that all classes are treated equally and fairly going forward. Download your absentee voting form here: absentee motion 3 Important Note: Each of the 3 forms needs to be sent in with your vote on that change. You can’t vote for all 3 changes on one form. Reminder: If you can’t make it to the vote and you want your vote to count, your vote must be on the vote forms supplied, and must be with the secretary more than 24 hours prior to the vote. Alternatively, you can have another member vote on your behalf by proxy. 2014 VMX Rnd 1 – Cessnock

2014 VMX Rnd 1 – Cessnock

The anticipation builds. Round 1 of the 2014 VMX season is almost upon us. By all reports this track is a classic Ol’School MOTOCROSS track with a little bit for everyone and no crazy modern style doubles and triples. This will be a new location for the club and almost all members. It should be a great weekend and the host club are looking forward to seeing our members enjoy their complex. Just a reminder that membership are now overdue and if you want to retain your 2013 racing number then you need to renew your membership no later than 28 Feb ’14. Please get those renewal forms in. There have been many new member application which is great news and will see a lot of new faces and new bikes at the first round. Finally, it has been confirmed that rear sprocket guards are back in for 2014. This rule was with us in 2012 and caused concerns for several members and the classic MX and DT areas were granted exemptions from the requirement in 2013. That exemption has been removed for 2014. The rule reads as follows 16.15.4.6  A chain guard made of suitable material must be fitted in a way to prevent trapping between the lower drive chain run and the final drive sprocket at the rear wheel. The interpretation given for this rule is that the contact point between the lower chain run and rear sprocket needs to be guarded to prevent fingers from entering the pinch point. This rule does not need to cause great concern for most people. Almost all EVO & Pre85 bikes already comply along with a large percentage of Pre78 bikes. Bikes that do not only require simple guards it does not required large addition brackets welding onto swingarms etc. often simple sections of a plastic number plate cable tied in position or even brackets clamped to the swingarm or small extensions to the existing guides is all that is required.
